Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Singaporean women in the last 50 years and the leading cause of cancer deaths among women. According to the Singapore Cancer Registry, breast cancer remains the most common cancer diagnosed in females, and the leading cause of cancer death in women in Singapore*.
Every October marks the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), a national campaign to raise awareness for this cause. This year's theme is 'Empower Her, and we hope to show all breast cancer patients and survivors that they are not alone in #HerJourney (and his journey) through our series of activations this October. We are the biggest gifts to ourselves and let us strengthen our mind and bodies with the series of health talks, wellness programmes and engaging educational materials that are coming up. Share these resources with your loved ones.
Last but not least, here's a call to all to practise monthly breast self-examination and go for regular mammogram screening.
