Biosketch

Professor Allen Yeoh is the Head and Senior Consultant in the Division of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology in NCIS and NUH, as well as the VIVA-Goh Foundation Professor in Paediatric Oncology in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He was trained in NUS and NUH and was a Clinical Fellow in St Jude Children's Research Hospital from 1999 to 2001.

Prof Yeoh's interest is in childhood leukaemia. He is currently the principal investigator of the multi-centre Malaysia-Singapore ALL and AML trials, competitively funded by NMRC. The Malaysia-Singapore trials have been highly successful with >80% and >60% projected cure respectively. He is the first Singaporean doctor to receive the American Society of Haematology Merit Award for his pioneering work in gene expression profiling in leukaemia and it was one of the highest cited articles in this field in 2003.

Prof Yeoh's focus is on translational clinical research in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). Specifically, he leads the VIVA-NUS Centre for Translational Research in Acute Leukaemia (CenTRAL) which provides actionable biomarkers to help guide treatment of ALL. These biomarkers include minimal residual disease quantitation and RNA-Seq. Together with Prof Dario Campana from NUSMed, Prof Yeoh leads the chimeric-antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cells programme in NUHS.
