Our Oncology Nurses play important roles in caring for persons with solid tumours and blood related malignancies as well as educating patients and families on the complex issues related to the cancer process and treatment procedures.
Our competent nurses support health promotion activities on disease prevention strategies, provide curative to palliative care management, ambulatory to inpatient care, as well as involved in sophisticated procedures such as peripheral blood stem cells transplants. These services are rendered through CancerLine, Survivorship and Treatment Support Group, outpatient centres, inpatient wards and home care services.
Our advanced practice nurses also conduct outpatient consultation clinics and provide palliative care support for our patients.
Besides excellent patient care, our oncology nurses are constantly seeking for evidence based and best recommended clinical practices in caring for our patients. Our nurses are involved in reviewing articles and conducting researches to ensure that our patients received the best nursing care.
Our oncology nurses also believe in the importance of developing our next generation of good nurses. Our expert oncology nurses hold adjunct positions in academic institutions and are invited speakers at international and local conferences. Our oncology nurse clinicians conduct internationally accredited in-house courses to ensure that our young oncology nurses are equipped to provide care to our patients.
Many of our oncology nurses are winners of national awards for rendering excellent nursing care and for making significant contributions to nursing in Singapore. Our oncology nurses will always put our patients at the centre of our wholesome care and service.
